I was at the Long Beach Comics Expo this past weekend. It was put on by the same folks in charge of October's highly successful Long Beach Comic-Con in LB, California. I had a great time. It was a much smaller and relaxed event, so I got to talk a bunch with my table neighbor, Mike Mignola, and walked the dealers' hall.
During down times at the table, I will usually do quick 3-5 minute sketches. I did about a dozen this time, and sold a few of them. Here are the ones that did not sell. These were done with a Uni-Ball Micro tip pen on 6x9" 2-ply 500 series Strathmore bristol. I really like the looseness of the lines when I work this way. Click on the image for a better look.
Those are great! I actually like the first two a lot. I didn't realize that was Mike Mignola next to you. I saw the hellboy art in the corner of my eye but I didn't make the connection. Sheesh. Peace, maka
These look GREAT Stan! And glad to hear you were able to meet my brother. Also, your pin-up came the other day and it's absolutely INCREDIBLE! Thank you SO much Stan. I sent you a thank-you in the mail that should arrive shortly.
