I've finished my 8-page Hulk story for Marvel, titled "Oni", with "Samurai Hulk" as an informal title. Next it goes to Tom Luth for colors. Here's a sample page. It's not my favorite, but it doesn't give any of the plot away.
Marvel Underground is not yet on the schedule, though they have commissioned stories. A couple of other creators are Paul Chadwick and Paul Pope. It's a 4 or 6 issue mini-series each with an 8-page lead story and a few shorter stories, each by different independent artist working with Marvel characters.
I can't wait for this comic. It's about time Marvel did something like this. There is so much creative genius out there that may not want to make the same ol' same ol' Marvel comics, but might like a chance to play with the toys in the Marvel toy box. I would have wished for a Sakai FF story, but maybe next time. Heck, they can go just about anywhere with their time machine stuff.
I saw a preview for an indie style Doctor Strange story, I wonder if that's for this same project.

That page looks fantastic, and I am really looking forward to the rest of the story.
This will be the first Marvel comic I have bought in quite a while - the last one was Sergio Aragones' Massacres Marvel.
I concidered buying the Wolverine mini-series where he went back in time to feudal Japan, but ended up passing on it. There was also an issue of a Marvel comic which was written by Kazuo Koike (Lone Wolf and Cub) but I passed on it as well.
This was drawn for Joe Dunn of Antarctic Press at the last San Diego Con. He asked if I was working on anything new, and I told him about the Hulk story.
